Fry Egg???

My first venture to "fry egg" in a restaurant yesterday.

By the way, this is no ordinary egg !!

It is actually an ice-cream "egg" which I have created out of durian flavour ice-cream (for the egg yolk) & vanilla (for the white) !! So creative right? ;p

This is something extra ... ...for additional S$2, you get to make your own ice-cream from their generous varieties of flavour & toppings !! WOW !!

Yuki Yaki at Marina Square is a 3-in-1 buffet offering Steamboat, Teppanyaki & Ice-Cream (optional), totally new dining concept.

The tables are really spacious. It is equipped with two in-built stoves for steamboat and teppanyaki. Those who loves dessert will applause to the idea of self made ice-cream. The teppanyaki pan is thoroughly cleansed by the service staff and the thermostat adjusted to a cold temperature, ready for ice cream making. That's a cool way to end a satisfying meal :):)

Our 1212 Night

As requested, I'm showing you some pictures of our 1212 night.

I looked like I'm going clubbing... LOL :D

Hubs say cannot take his photo. So I secretly took from his backview & while he was driving .... keke ;p

We went to Bar Stop at 6, Devonshire Road.
These were taken inside the pub using my handphone. Sorry for the poor quality. I don't have the courage to take out my camera. Shy loh... so weird if pple see me take photos of the food.... wahahahaha :D
From left :
1st pic : Our house pour, red wine... hubs had 3 glass while I had only 1 & last me for the whole night.
2nd pic : Vegetable Pizza, sorry that I only rem that I have to take photos when we have eaten half of it...I was starving & forgotten about taking pictures... so funny !!
3rd pic : Back dish was Prawns Batter with mayonnaise in wasabi paste. Hubs dun like wasabi, I had to finish all of it...haha ;)
Front dish was Chicken Picks, its actually fried chicken wings cut into small parts, so easy to feast on.

There is a live band "Acoustic Trip" singing 80s sentimental songs. The lead singer is a friend of hubs. His voice is beautiful. He even dedicated a song "More Than Words" by Extreme to us. He only performed on Wed nights, the rest of the days he will be running around HRC, Wala at HV & etc.

My eldest sis & her teenage daughter came to join us half way through. They were so late that hubs suspected they went to get us a gift. I told him its impossible... ...
But true enough, when we were about to leave. My sis told me she bought me a cake. I was surprised & thought it was really sweet of her, its actually a Blackberry Custard Mouse Towel wrapped like a cake. Totally fabulous. Thanks sis :)

1212

Today is a special day ...
He needs to work today so we only have some evening time to celebrate.
Can you guess what is the special occasion? ;p

White Dog Cafe

Finally get a chance to dine at the "White Dog Cafe" at Vivo on Fri nite after the zoo outing .... w/o the kids. (Why I say finally get a chance bcos my sis has been telling me many mths back that they have tried the restaurant & thought that their food is worth trying.) We quickly sneak out of the house while they are still sleeping. It is really good to have a helper at home. Occasionally, we also need to have some freedom to enjoy a good meal, shop & movie ... *smile*
As it was still early (abt 6pm), we managed to get the window seats. This give us beautiful scenery of the iconic Merlion, cable car, sea & the cruises...
I did not bring along my camera, else would be able to show you how nice the scene is.

Took the photo using our HP though.....

We ordered the mushroom soup, crispy duck confit & crispy salmon with roe. We were told that the restaurant do not serve set dinner, so all ala carte please.
We were starving & forgotten to take a pic of the mushroom soup. haha
The soup has plenty of mushroom bits, the taste is not too bad. The portion is big enough to be shared by 2.

The crispy duck is fantastic. I am those who don't usually take duck meat bcos I cannot stand the "duck smell". This duck meat is wonderfully tender & panfried to a crispy skin which sets it apart from other duck meat. The skin is crispy yet not oily and the meat has got enough spice. The overall taste when chew together somehow resemble our familiar KFC original recipe. This dish has change my perspective of duck meat ... I am surprised that it can turned out to be so tantalising.

This salmon smells fishy when it was served. I duno why....
But after a while the smell is gone. The meat is soft & easily sliced apart. The roe is fresh & crunchy. It goes well with the sauce.
However, I am feeling rather full half way through the dish. This makes me ponder if the starchy mushroom soup could be the "culprit".

As such, we did not order any dessert.

Overall, it was a good & relaxing meal after a tired day. The dinner cost S$50+. Try it @ White Dog Cafe, 1 Harbourfront Walk, #02-131/132 VivoCity Singapore 098585. (65) 6376 9970
