A new member in my family ...
Before you stand jumping to conclusion from the title ... ...
The new member is none other than this turtle, it is rather huge with long nails on its front paws. How on earth could I have possible get such a mighty one when small turtle are relatively cuter and easier to maintain.
Its all fated... whether you believe it or not!! This turtle actually appear at my corridor on Wednesday afternoon when my neighbour knocked on my door if I have a turtle that escaped from my house.... LOL :)
Seeing the lonesome creature moving slowly along the dirty corridor looking so helpless, aparently lost. I get my maid to bring it in, get it washed & gave it some cabbages :)
When the 2 boys were back from school, they were delighted to see it.. Amos wanted to catch the turtle. Zac kept shouting to me that the turtle attempted to reach over the pail to crawl out. They were just too ecstatic cos this being the first time we had a pet in the house.
I have to get a proper house for the turtle & create a living environment for it.
Will keep you updated ...
64 Hugs for Amos & Zac:
Wow!! Congrats! Since it chose to come to your home of joy and laughter, how could you possibly resist?
Be prepared though. They general don't smell too good.
Karen : I think the tortise chose the right family cos I will definitely not boil it for some tian ji porridge... wahahahaha...
Thanks for telling me abt the smell. I already smell it on the first day... hehe ;p
Oh my ... I once went out with a friend for dinner at a coffee shop. She ordered the Tian Ji soup and ate with rice. She kept telling me it tasted as good as chicken. I did not look at the bowl of soup throughout the dinner. Hee Hee .. I hope she did not get offended.
It's a good sign you know! They bring luck to your house and this fella chose the right house!
What I big tortise! I remember when I had 1 this big like 5 years ago. My mum keep letting it crawl through slips of papers with numbers. Hoping the tortise will grab a piece and she can get a windfall from 4D!
Karen : You're a vegetarian right?
I don't recall I've tried the Tian Ji porridge before even if I had, I don't recall the taste... LOL :)
Blur : You think its really a good sign? Wow, I must go buy 4 D liaoz :)
Jeslyn : Maybe I should give it a try too, let the tortise pick a winning number for me... YAY !! :)
I have to agree with BT. I heard tortoise brings good luck :D
good fortune perhaps?
My parents bought one for each of us when we were at Elementary School...but for some reason they didn't live long.
I hope your tortoise lives long! ;-D

I can just imagine how very thrilled the boys are!!
Hugs,
Jackie
I had a huge snapping turtle when I was a kid. I stepped on him one morning when I was really groggy...and he bit my toes off...hahaha! Just kidding...hehehe:)
Pets that find you are so wonderful. A little cat once wandered into our life. He was with us for several years when sadly he got melanoma and died way too early. But on his grave is the inscription "He found us and we were blessed"

This must be a tortoise is so lucky to have you, else he might be accidentally being flat up under human steps!
Having small animal at home can actually develop kids in a way that how the kid can show their love and caring to them.
Nick : Thanks, hmmm... tortise, please give me some luck? ;p
Wen : Not too sure, heard pple saying that. Let's just hope. hehe ;p
Amel : I thought tortise is suppose to be the easiest to upkeep & live the longest life? hehehe ;)
Kev : LOL !! :D:D:D:D:D
Jackie : I've got to source for a suitable home for it now ;p
Bobby : Your "pet" sounded like an aligator to me... wahahhaha :D
Becky : Its just so sad to have a pet & it passed away. Sorry to hear that. Both the kitty & you are blessed to have found each other :)
Judy : I think you are right, having a pet at your need a lot of patience & care :)
SO CUTE!!! I used to have one too! It was really fun! I put it in front of the mirror and it ran away thinking there was another tortoise there! haha
Bobo : Wahahahahah... you just made me laugh with that interesting one. Perhaps I could try it on mine too whether it will run away.... so cute !! :):)
ahhh...he is soo cute!!!...they are such a gentle animal
Hi Janice. It's nice that you have generously opened your door to the poor tortoise. He (or she) is lucky to have you take care of him (or her).
We have a small one at home that a fellow mom from school gave to Yohan. His name is Mr. Max. Sadly Mrs. Max passed away last month.
eh, janice, i dont think this is tortoise oh...seem more likely is a "labi-labi".
Darlene : The tortise is hyper active, kept attempting to crawl out of the pail. He will stop when we walk passed, other times, he will leap n leap...LOL :)
Rachel : I was wondering how to distinguish if its a male or female? *blush*
I haven't thought of a cool name for the creature yet.... hmmmm....
Sorry to hear that Yohan's Mr Max passed away :(
Amei : Errr, may I ask what is "labi labi"? *blur*
Hi Jan and Mr. Tortoise! Labi-labi is fresh water turtle Janice. How are the boys enjoying their new playmate? :):):)
Marzie : ohhhh, thanks for telling me that. Is that a malay word? I ask my helper just now, she says she don't understand it... LOL :)
Hi Janice, I took a wrong turning somewhere landed here. Gosh, I love your music here.
The tortoise came to your house, thats really good fortune for you, your family. Buying one is different to one that comes to you.
I'm sure you be having good fortune coming your way, as long tortoise brings long life too.
Real cute your pet.
Best regards, UL.
Lee : Thanks, I sure hope good fortune will befall on me :)
Does it or will you give it a name? He / she is awfully cute!
Jyankee : I'm still thinking of a good one, you have any suggestion? The problem now is that I'm not sure whether is a female or male... LOL :)
Hi Jan, wow! For a minute, looking at the title, i thought you are going to be a mother of three!
Congrats to your new addition to the family. Cheers!
MT : LOL...:)
Keeping tortise is good according to Fengshui. You will have a great year 2008. :)
Wah Janice... like wen say.. good fortune comes knocking perhaps??!!
Cheerio
LJ
Uncle Sam : That's nice to know. I really hope so :)
LJ : I should buy more 4D then... hehe ;p
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope you're not falling sick because of flu. If it is, maybe you should consider getting flu shot since you're around kids all the time. This is the age they build immunity and parents tend to catch the same virus all the time.
Blur : Just feeling restless & headache, not having flu. Zac is down with flu & slight cough though. Thanks for your concern :)
hehe...believe or not, i am afraid to touch tortise until today.
Chin Nee : For me, its not just tortise, but a lot of other pets as well...*blush*
Aww.. what a cute little turtle.. As you can see in my blog, there is a jumping turtle, I am a big fans of turtle.. :)
Nyumix : Yes, I noticed the jumping turtle on yours :)
Janice, how is the turtle today? healthy? :-) We used to have 2 turtles here, but one was died... and one is lonely..so I gave it to clay's neighbor friend who has many turtles.
At Cliff birthday, I gave some turtles to his cousins, later on,my brother in law showed an article that turtle is not a good pet for kids, it can bring some diseases for kids... you better check it out again, Jan... I don't have turtle anymore so I just ignore that article and just read the headlines.. hehehe..
Trinity : Ohhhhh, diseases? I think I better check it out. Thanks for telling me :)
hmmm maybe you take it to the petstore and see what sex it is? LOL...
hahaha Janice.. yelah.. you should buy the date your got the tortoise...hehehhe...
To have a tortoise at your door step is considered as good luck isn't it?
So this is the new member of your family :) what if somebody looks for him? There should be a way to legally adopt him, hehehe :)
haha. that little fellow is so cute !! :D
Jyankee : I've a feeling its a male species from what I read from the internet on how to differient the sex... hehe ;p
LJ : Thanks for reminding me about the date. I will go buy now ;p
Shireen : Many pple said so too. Hmmmm... let me see if I strike on 4d this week then... LOL :D
Carlo : I will return to the owner if someone comes looking for it...;p
Levian : Heard that its a brazilian turtle ;)
this is nothing in asian countries, but if i am right, i think this tortoise is considered pest in aust. either it's banned or need a special license cos they can do harm to the environment or farm, something like that. i may be wrong, but i can vaguely hearing it somewhere :)
Sweetpea : You got me all worried now. Oh No... I better check it out. Thanks for informing :)
