Hermit Crab

My sister bought 2 Hermit Crabs recently. It cost S$75 including the tank. I was amazed by it!!

The Hermit Crab is a type of crab that doesn't have a very hard shell. It uses other animals' old shells for protection; they especially like old whelk shells. As the hermit crab grows in size, it must find a larger shell. It is their habit of living in a second hand shell that gave rise to the popular name "Hermit Crab".
There are about 500 different species of hermit crabs around the world. Most hermit crab species live on the ocean floor, but many live on land. Female terrestrial (land based) hermit crabs must return to the sea to breed.

I happened to witness how the crab molt (shed its skin). See bottom left hand corner of pic . That was the discarded skin & limb from the crab !!

Interesting pet to have at home if you're not afraid of sharp creepy crawlers.... hahaha :D

My friend from Manila

I met up with the lovely Pia from Manila 2 weeks ago on her first trip to Singapore ALONE. She decided to proceed with the trip even though her friend couldn't come along with her. Luckily, she has a brother working in Singapore & stays over at his place.

I was on my way to the hair salon when I received her message via my facebook. She has been trying to contact me but I didn't get her message until her 3rd day in Singapore *sweat*

My hubby & I went to her brother's place to pick her up for dinner. We went to East Coast Park for dinner. Hubby ordered so much local dishes. Fried Carrot Cake, Fried Oyster, Fried Kuay Teow, Chicken & Pork Satay with rice dumplings, Popiah, Dessert & Drinks. Pia was having slight cough but cant resist those food. hahahaha.:D
She told me her favourite among all is Fried Carrot Cake!!

After that, we stroll along the park & then give her a City Night Tour... ...

Pia alighted at Raffles Hotel to take pic after hearing from hubby that her idol, the late Michael Jackson, stayed over at this hotel during his visit to Singapore many years ago :)

We send Pia back home around 10+pm. It was a long day for her cos she visited Sentosa during the day time .... .... alone....... such a daring gal *hugs*

Transformer

Daddy bought Transformer for them as promised during his recent trip to Korea. I'm surprised that it cost cheaper there compared to Singapore !! Amos chose Optimus Prime while Zac is satisfied with Bumble Bee !!

Men's Fashion

There aren't many fashion magazine available over here for men. I found a perfect site on men's guide to getting dressed. It guides you on the fit and style, especially useful for newbies. You should never wear a tie over a short sleeve shirt unless you have graduate to upper tiers of fashionability!! Also, if you are still wearing pleated pants, you should really read on to know what suits you best.

The change of season may not be quite as exciting in the world of men's fashion compared to women's trend. Would you want to know what are the top trends of Spring 2009? Go for light colored button down shirts and relaxed jeans!!

If you are traveling to cooler countries in the later half of the year. Take a peep at the Winter & Fall picks. Its always wise to know what's hip or classy for you so you won't fall victims to fashion mistake.

Singapore Turf Club

The boys went to so many places during the June holidays that I am still posting outings of them till now. They get to enter the Singapore Turf Club during one of the nights when it was opened to public. We went there right after their day Splash Day at SSC. You can imagine how tired they were. Amos actually dozed off during the journey there & when he woke up, he refused to walk & as such, only Zac posing at the entrance ... ...



Amos was soon fascinated with the place as there were food fair & games stalls ... ...


There was a race on that day but its more for entertainment & not for betting!!
The boys get to bring in their popcorn & drinks & watched the race at the comfort of the air-con seats.

This was the second time I came to the Turf Club. The first time was a supplier event & we get to enter the VIP room. I can still recall the excitement of betting & watching 'live' matches. It was truly an experience for me then !! The VIP rooms were closed on that day & I could only watch the empty seats from the next door... ...

Do you still recall my WW of The Boy's Age? The sculpture were also taken there. There were a total of 10 numbers ;p

Singapore Flyer

We went to the Singapore Flyer last month during the "Kids fly for FREE promotion".
This was the 2nd time Zac went up on the Flyer but the first for the rest of us :)

We could hardly feel that the capsules were moving.... we were at the PEAK in just a blink.
I must have been so busy snapping photos away & din realized that time passed so quickly ;p

Little Prince

Splash Park at SSC

A friend recommended Sembawang Shopping Centre (SSC) to me after knowing that my boys love water playground. SSC was re-opened after a year of renovation. The new shopping mall houses four retail floors and a rooftop “Splash Park” as a designated water play area with interactive features to provide lots of entertainment and amusement for children.

The water jet operates at 2 time interval : 2pm & 5pm. So be there at the right time to avoid dissapointment :)

This is the DRY playground with interesting slides, see-saw, ropes & rocks for climbing & balancing.. ...




This is the splash area with colorful & amusing display of water jets in all directions. Watch out if you step into the area. A pail of water might just fall onto you :)


We'll definitely be back again before the school term starts. The boys spend 4 hrs of fun-filled time at the mall :):)

Hoopla @ Parkway Parade

The boys have been watching the programs on Playhouse Disney ever since Daddy subscribed the channel for them during the March holiday this year . They are so familiar with the varies showtime and the names of the characters.

I saw the Disney Hoopla Workshops advertised on the newspaper way before the June holiday begin. I have scheduled a date to bring the boys over.

A min spend of S$30 is required to participate in the Workshop. There are four thematic workshops to choose from. The best part is that they get to bring home a Free Disney Tote Bag (while stocks last!) at the end of it !!

I need to spend at least S$60 for the boys to participate in the workshop. I'm thrilled to know that receipts from Giants are eligible. Its easy task for me to grab S$60 worth of grocery... ...

I enter the workshop with the boys!!
First is the "Handy Manny" station ...

I was surprised that both the boys knew the character names of the tools in the show when the lady asked them. They have never mentioned to me about the names . It was a JOY seeing them so enjoying something they are familiar with !! :):)


Next is Amos' favorite "Little Einsteins" - its all about musical notes.
The boys were required to follow the beat and play their instruments. Zac handled the percussion while Amos was in charge of the drum. The boys knew their rhythm *applause*


Moving on is my favorite cartoon - Winnie The Pooh Bear.
The boys had to drive through the woods to reach the other end... ...

Last but not least, the Mickey Mouse Club House!!
The boys had to complete a puzzle & then find the designated shapes from a pool of balls.


I'm so impressed by all the colorful display & interactive games.
The event is very well organized !!
