Catch Fish

The boys tried catching fish for the first time after hearing from my friend that this particular pond on the NE side of Singapore has a lot of "longkang" fishes.

I specially bought 2 nets a day before the trip for the boys.

It was a hot afternoon.... when we reached there, I realized that I've forgotten to bring along food for the fishes *alamak* ;p

Nevertheless, we still managed to catch abt 50 little fishes. The biggest of the shoal of fishes was caught by Zac *applause*

We intend to go there again & this time with food so that we can catch the bigger ones!! ;p

We released the fishes back to the pond before we leave ... ...

The Animal Resort

I've planned a whole series of activities to keep the boys occupied during the June Holidays... ...
We went to The Animal Resort (free entrance) on 4 June 09.

First, we walked around the farm before purchasing the food for the boys to feed the animals. It cost S$1 per packet or 3 for S$2. There are different food for different species of animals. The crane, chicken, pigeon & duck shared the same food. Rabbit, horse, goat and guinea pig consume carrots & bread :)

The boys were so excited to feed the animals.

Amos is afraid of the mighty horse & stand so far away while feeding it. LOL :D

A gaggle of geese followed us when they saw food in our hands. One of them came so close that it bite Amos' finger. I'm startled by the overwhelming swarm of animals & we have to throw the last bit of food on the floor for the hungry herd :)

It was a great experience for the boys to interact with the animals at close distance. We spend about an hour there. We could have stayed longer if not for the unbearable heat & mossie stings !!

Farm Visit : Goat & Frog Farm

We went to the Goat Farm @ Hay Diaries off Lim Chu Kang on Haji holiday. We proceeded with our plans despite the sudden rain in the morning :)

I was surprised that the place was already crowded & limited parking areas !!
We reached there in time to catch the milking process... ...

Fresh milk in the pail...
The milk are sold in 200 & 800 ml bottles.

We bought 200ml x 5 bottles of plain milk (S$10), there are chocolate flavors too.
It came in a nice handy chiller container :)
The boys enjoying the milk...!! For me, I couldn't really tell the difference between cow & goat milk.
I catch a banner there that say :
" Drink Goat Milk" Nature Next Best Thing to Mother's Milk.
Highly Nutritious

Highly Digestible

Low Cholestrol

A Unique Product of Nature !!

We were disappointed that the feeding areas were closed due to health checks. As such, the boys din manage to feed the goats personally *sob*

We left the goat farm & move on to the Frog Farm a few mins drive away... ...

Its a rare occasion to see so many frogs. The boys were stunned !!
I saw a BIG plastic bag with many frogs struggling inside (see pic below)!! Cannot help wondering if they are due for slaughter?? Poor thing ... ...
There are also fish pond there. Lots of fishes ... ...

We ended the day with a late lunch at South Bridge Road. Yummilicious prawn noodle, Crayfish Laksa & Mee Siem. According to the stall owner, the gravy for the latter is made of fruits & not the asam paste. Totally mouth savouring & we finished up wanting a 2nd bowl but the boys just cant sit still so have to leave the place. I'll be back to try the Mee Reebus... ... :) ~~~~

This is a miracle... ...FIRST Commentator

Zac's FIRST school field trip

Zac went on his FIRST school field trip on board the Singapore Flyer & Fun City Tour last week. It cost S$25 inclusive of a lunch :)

Zac was so excited. He woke up especially early for the trip :)
It was raining heavily that morning so I let him to wear a long sleeve shirt inside.

Zac holding hands with his classmates while waiting for the teacher to bring them back to the classroom for dismissal after the trip :)

I can see that he really enjoyed himself. He told me that he sat on a big bus (he meant coach) that brought them to the Singapore Flyer. He saw cars, trucks, buses, buildings & construction cranes from above the Flyer. It moved round & it was very HIGH but he is not scare at all (LOL!!). After that they sat on a double decker bus, could be the bus that brought them for City tour? I asked him what he had for lunch. He told me noodle & chicken. hehehe ;p

This was his FIRST field trip & was glad that he had so much fun & back home safely :)

I've not even went up the Singapore Flyer yet. Zac is more fortunate than me ah !! kekekeke ;p
