I've been TAGGED ......... ;p
This is the first time I am TAGGED.
From what I understand from bokjae, who has TAGGED me. It indicates that you have friends and you are approachable! As all tagging game goes there are rules and here they are. The rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write their own blog post with their 7 things as well as these rules. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog. Remember to leave a comment for them letting them know they have been tagged and to read your blog.
So here I am writing 7 things about myself :
1. My friends call me "mahjong queen" bcos I like to play mahjong, but haven't been playing lately bcos of family matters (read my previous post if you want to know what happened). My mahjong kakis, you can actually jio me now lah...
2. I like the beach but can never stay tanned. I am a snow "WHITE". :)
3. My favourite color is purple.
4. My favourite past-time now is blogging.
5. I am actually a very homely person but my friends all thought I am a party-goer.
6. I started to help my mum to do housework since Pri School.
7. My greatest "achievement" in life will be having Amos & Zachary ... they are my miracle & this is my blog about my life & them.
Now I shall tag my 7 new friends :
1) Mamas Bags Of Tricks
2) Mariuca's Perfume Gallery
3) BoboBimbo
4) Cool Mum
5) Journey with Water Learner
6) Love and Marriage Dating & Relationships: LOVE, Kloudiia
7) DLG: Life in A Refrigerator
Amos has taken his primary dose of MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) today. This has to be taken between 1-2 yrs old. He is 15 mths old & weigh 10.5kg. This is only at the 75 percentile according to the chart. He used to be at the 90 percentile. It is quite a tremendous drop. He has lost quite a bit after getting the rota-virus (doctor suspect only bcos he vomit & diarrhoea!) about 2 mths ago. *sob...sob* My poor baby... However, he has since regain back his appetite, the lost in weight could be part of his growing up, I think ... other than that, he is on track. :)

1) Having trouble shaving foods with a knife? Use a vegetable peeler to shave parmesan cheese and chocolate. Its much faster.
2) Mix salad dressing in a screw top jar- combine all the ingredients and shake the closed jar. The unused portion can be stored in the jar.
3) Instead of trying to skim fat or oil off gravy with a ladle, just pour the gravy into a plastic bag. Let the fat rise to the top, then snip off a small corner & drain out the broth, leaving the fat in the bag.
4) Marinate meat or dried fruit in a zip lock bag. Leave it in the fridge, & remember to turn the bag occasionally to coat the content.
5) Want to seed a tomato? Use a melon baller instead of a knife.
6) Having to chill, roll & line a pie pan with a biscuit crumb crust can be time consuming. Instead, roughly spread the mixture in the pan & use a same sized pan to press the crust into place.
7) Freeze leftover stock in disposable muffin pans. Small amounts cans be thawed & used when needed.
8) When measuring sticky liquids like syrup, honey or peanut butter, spray the measuring cup or spoon with cooking spray, it helps the ingredient slide out easily
9) An egg slicer does more than slice eggs – use it to slice mushrooms, strawberries & other soft fruits.
10) Peel young ginger by scraping off the thin skin with a spoon.
Recently, I read an article abt a 8.5 mths old baby who does not know how to crawl but is learning how to walk. .( I can understand her concern bcos my elder boy is only struggling to crawl at 9.5mths old. The crawling stage is simply too short for me to recall & he could suddenly walk at 13 mths.) A friend told her that this may cause speech impediment or be slower in learning to talk. This is bcos learning to crawl will help to develop a baby’s left & right brain which would in turn affect speech development. According to Child Development Consultant, there is no definitive evidence supporting this theory. Although it is clear that crawling develops muscle strength & improves co-ordination in infants. However, it is still not clear how important crawling is as a development milestone. It is not the crawling that is critical but the amount of time & effort spent on moving the body muscles. It is the experiences of a child while moving around that may have an impact on the developing brain. So, do not despair if your child is not moving normally, continue to motivate & cheer her on as she picks up her motor skills while discussing your concern with the doctor.
I stayed over at the hospital yesterday nite to take care of my mum.

Have you tried this ?

Whatever features 6 non-carbonated tea drinks which includes white grape, lemon peach, apple, chrysanthemum & jasmine green tea. My mum visited this doctor 16 yrs ago....
I came to visit her everyday in the hospital after her operation the last time as it happened to be my school vacation.
Life is so unpredictable, ...
she undergone the same operation to overcome these old history of pain that she endured over the years. In layman terms, "soft" bones near her spine area has been accumulating over the years.... these added pressure on her nerve causing her to experience constant numbness. It could happen anywhere & anytime, this caused inconvenienced & prevent her from carrying out her daily routines. The pain was so unbearable (she could hardly moved, not even stand) last week that she decided to visit the doctor for another round of operation. The decision was fast, pre consultation, x-ray, confirm operation date, pre admission, operation, recuperating in hospital.... , tentative date of discharge is next week. She has slight diabetes & is on insulin for the past days to keep the level within the normal range.
Looking at her lying on the bed, she has really aged a lot ... Time has taken away her once strong body who has taken care of 8 children. I think it is really time that she should take a good rest. But she is those who cannot help not worrying about us despite that the youngest child, ie, me is already a mother of 2.
I don't know if I will be as brave as her when I am her age...
Mummy, we all love you & hope you could once again regain your strong legs to "come screaming after us" ..... :)
I have been rather busy recently bcos my mum is hospitalized.
I have to shuttle between the hospital, my dad's house & my home.
Very tiring...
I will return very soon with more updates of what happen...
Just get to know abt this. But it is never too late if you support me lah.

This reminds me of the craze over Teletubbies abought 6 yrs ago. I duno why the kids are so crazy over it, I don't find the character cute leh. I heard pple commenting before that there is some "spell" over the toy which will lure kids to its liking. How true is it?We usually went over to my mum's place for dinner on Sun. However, she is not cooking today. As such, we went out for dinner. After much thinking, I decided on Jack's Place.
Finally get a chance to dine at the "White Dog Cafe" at Vivo on Fri nite after the zoo outing .... w/o the kids. (Why I say finally get a chance bcos my sis has been telling me many mths back that they have tried the restaurant & thought that their food is worth trying.) We quickly sneak out of the house while they are still sleeping. It is really good to have a helper at home. Occasionally, we also need to have some freedom to enjoy a good meal, shop & movie ... *smile* As it was still early (abt 6pm), we managed to get the window seats. This give us beautiful scenery of the iconic Merlion, cable car, sea & the cruises...
I did not bring along my camera, else would be able to show you how nice the scene is.
Took the photo using our HP though.....
We ordered the mushroom soup, crispy duck confit & crispy salmon with roe. We were told that the restaurant do not serve set dinner, so all ala carte please.
We were starving & forgotten to take a pic of the mushroom soup. haha
The soup has plenty of mushroom bits, the taste is not too bad. The portion is big enough to be shared by 2. The crispy duck is fantastic. I am those who don't usually take duck meat bcos I cannot stand the "duck smell". This duck meat is wonderfully tender & panfried to a crispy skin which sets it apart from other duck meat. The skin is crispy yet not oily and the meat has got enough spice. The overall taste when chew together somehow resemble our familiar KFC original recipe. This dish has change my perspective of duck meat ... I am surprised that it can turned out to be so tantalising.
This salmon smells fishy when it was served. I duno why....
But after a while the smell is gone. The meat is soft & easily sliced apart. The roe is fresh & crunchy. It goes well with the sauce.
However, I am feeling rather full half way through the dish. This makes me ponder if the starchy mushroom soup could be the "culprit".
As such, we did not order any dessert.
Overall, it was a good & relaxing meal after a tired day. The dinner cost S$50+. Try it @ White Dog Cafe, 1 Harbourfront Walk, #02-131/132 VivoCity Singapore 098585. (65) 6376 9970
