What about me?

Hubs back from US this very early morning. Its now 2.38am. I stay awake to wait for him cos he told me he got stuff for the boys. I cant sleep knowing that I haven't seen the goodies yet :)

He bought quite a lot of apparels from Old Navy & Gap for the boys.
This maroon reversible from Gap for Zac is my favourite. You can reverse it to have another look in grey color. Really cool isn't it? However, it can most likely be worn on a cool day cos it is rather thick :)


He got 2 pants for Zac, the one in beige is way too big for him now. Most likely got to wait for another 2 yrs or so?
The one on the right from Old Navy is so versatile. You could choose to shorten it to become a bermudas on a hot weather. The zipper there is such a breeze. What an intelligent design :)

This is the only one that fits Amos nicely (I think !!). It is really cute & neat. I cant wait to see Amos wearing it !!

2 long sleeves shirt one each from Gap & Old Navy for Zac. Simple & the cotton fabric makes it really nice to touch :)

Its difficult to get man to shop things for us, more often will either get things of the wrong size. So I think he chose not to buy at all. *more sobbing*

I'm in the mood for exercise

Do you know what is that? Its a "white elephant" sitting in my bedroom for 4yrs. The number of times I put on my running shoes & set foot on it can be counted. You should have guessed it since the plastic cover is still intact & nicely protected. It look just so brand new :):)

I put on a lot of weight after giving birth to Zac. My hubs bought the treadmill @S$2.2K for me so that I could shed off excess weight at home at my convenience. Initially I was very keen & exercise thrice per week. After losing a few kgs in about 2 months. I slacked. haha :D

Since then, I hardly used it!!

Yesterday morning, being bored at home while the boys are at the playground with my helper. I put on my running gears for that rare appearance once again. After I set up everything & ON the power. I was shocked that it was not working. OMG!! Must be spoiled after being dormant for so long !! In my heart, I'm blaming myself. I tried many times but still cant get it started. Suddenly I realized that the safety red strap magnet was dangling there did I recalled that Zac pulled it off quite sometimes back. Blur me lah. It is a safety feature integrated in the machine inself that it wil not work if it is not hooked properly. Viola.... it worked again !! *phew* You can imagine how panic I was if that costly machine aint gonna work again.

Why the sudden determination to workout again is partly bcos of Karen. My good pal is such a sportswoman. She used to jog around East Coast Park. I would never have thought of jogging there, with the treadmill at home.. ... I am already so lazy, not to say going out to jog. That is totally impossible. LOL :)

Karen's dream of taking part in the Standard Chartered Quarter Marathon at the end of this year was smashed due to overwhelming response & registration was already closed by the time she decided to sign up.

I have heard of a lot of sickness among friends & relatives these few months.
Age is catching up on me & I felt so tired recently even doing nothing much at home. Something must be wrong with me. My weight has been loitering around 56kg (no secrecy, one look you can tell !!) after giving birth to Amos. I don't seem to be able to bring it down naturally. I hope to tone up slightly with some exercises. My pre-pregnancy weight is 50kg. Do you think I can returned to that figure?
I wanted to freshen up myself by doing some workouts & the easiest way to do it is running on my treadmill. I ran for .... hmmm.... don't laugh at me ok...... errr... only 10 mins .... *blush*. I do not want to strain myself cos I've not been exericising for so long. For a start, its just 10 mins. I will run again tomorrow. I intend to run on alternate days so that my knee has a rest day in between. I've got weak knee caps actually. I can hear sound when I squat down. I wonder what is the cause of it?? It got better when I stopped jog.... haha... I'm giving myself excuses not to exercise again !!

I actually felt GOOD yesterday after the run though it is only for a mere 10 mins but I'm totally ENERGISED. I believe doing exercise needs a lot of determination & once you get the momentum, you will just do it automatically. I hope to get my hubs involved in it too so that we could encourage each other. He also lacks of exercise actually :):)

A Fight Against Child Abuse

In our times of darkness, children are the ones who will brighten us up. No matter what ordeals we have to endure in our daily lives, we know that we can overcome them the moment we set eyes on children. Their innocence and purity in them will always give us a sense of peacefulness and calm that is beyond words. And it goes without saying that life would be meaningless without seeing them smile, hearing them laugh and cry, and feeling their small and flawlessly gentle hands that want to reach out to us.Yet, there are some who show no empathy and sensitivity towards these beautiful souls. Worse still, they would dunk themselves into physical violence and cruelty towards the children without even thinking twice. Such acts can deem someone to be worse than an animal, because even an animal has compassion and love for its young.What is going on with this world? Why must such horrid acts be carried out? Why do these people ever exist in this world? Please take this time to read this special message from us, and show your utmost support and sympathy towards the family of the late Nurin Jazlin, who passed away tragically and brutally at the age of only eight. Little Nurin Jazlin’s body was discovered in a gym bag on 17th September, one month after she was abducted. Upon the discovery, she was seen to be in the most horrifying state ever. Her hair was short and curled up, when it was originally straight and long.

Her body was pale and badly bruised from head to toe, and there were traces of foreign objects like brinjal and cucumber found in the virginal area of her body.Parents of the deceased took a long time to acknowledge her death, but eventually did after all the thorough DNA tests had been carried out by the forensics department. Her body was finally buried on 21st September. Her father, Jazimin Abdul Jalil, had expressed his sorrow towards this tragedy, stating that whoever who caused her death was not a human being, but rather, an animal.

This was the result of an outrage of modesty (See Picture) caused by a man of age between 35 and 40, who was thought to be someone who enjoyed torturing people, particularly children. Along with him was a 23-year-old lady, who was apparently his partner in crime. The lady had been found and called for questioning by the Malaysian authorities, whereas the man has yet to be found. Hence, we are urging all of you here to play your part in finding this serial killer cum sexual offender and ensuring that justice is served to the deceased and her family.

If you know of the culprits’ whereabouts, keep us informed immediately, or directly inform her uncle, Jasni Abdul Jalil, via his blog, which he had specially created as a form of dedication to her. Over the years, we have heard of children’s lives being taken away due to the evil doings of heartless adults. Nurin’s death was one of the most gruesome and tragic deaths that made many of us shocked, despaired and furious. Do you want more children to die in the hands of these sadistic people? Do you still wish to hear such saddening news of child abuse?Then let us do our part right away! Together we can make this world a better place for the little ones. Let us all join hand in hand and put a stop to such cruelty towards them once and for all! Can I have BIRTHDAY everyday?

The loving brothers went out for a walk yesterday afternoon. It was a beautiful picture seeing them holding each other's hand like that. Do you know that they are screaming their lungs out over the cooking toy back at home :)

Since it was Zac's birthday yesterday. He was entitled to a complimentary "Firehouse Birthday" sundae from Swensen. Not too sure if you are aware of it, adults enjoy the sundae too if you dine in on your birthday :)

Zac was obviously having so much fun over at the restaurant.

So what was Amos doing all this while... ...??

He was so busy entertaining those waitress in the restaurant.

He kept turning around and make them smile with his laughter !!

At the end of the day, Zac asked me if he can have BIRTHDAY everyday??

HAPPY 4th BiRtHDaY Zachary

Today is a special day to my elder boy, Zachary bcos he will be turning 4 yrs old.

Thank you to Jean for putting up a post to welcome Zac on his 4th birthday !!

Also, thank you to the forever kind Jackie for baking a cake & party over at hers !!

2 weeks before his birthday, I asked him what cake he wanted. He cant make up his mind on a Superman or Mickey Mouse cake. He also listed his birthday wishlist of a new tricycle, a set of cooking toys (do you rem that he loves to cook?) & lollipop. Let see if they were fulfilled !! :)

We celebrated his birthday last Friday nearly a week ahead. This is bcos Daddy will be away on his birthday. We don't want to miss him out on an important day to Zac so I planned earlier :)

We only have a small celebration at home unlike previous years when we had celebration twice over at our parents' !!

This was the swensen birthday cake I chose for Zac. There was no Superman design so I am left with an easy choice of getting the right Mickey design with 2 choices of ice-cream : blueberry & cookies n cream :)

On the left is a present from a good friend, Molly. It is a new learning puzzle game to test your judgement. It is really interesting. I'm surprised that Zac can figure out how to play it. There is a booklet on the different set of puzzle to select & play :)

On the right are present from his school assistants.

Below are a set vehicle tool set. I have longed wanted to get one for Zac but cant find an appropriate one. It is so cool to be receiving it from my 4th sis. She also bought a Ford Sports Car for him :)

My helper really dotes on my boys. She has never forgotten to get them presents over the years. This year, she bought some coloring/writing books & also stickers for Zac. How thoughtful of her :):)

Zac is 1 yr older this year & I can see that he is more aware that it is his special day unlike previous years. I hope today will mark his beginning of a new chapter in his life with new learnings & achievements :)

What CAKE is it ?

The above was the birthday cake we bought for Zac on his 1st year of Birthday. The photo was one of my favourite at that time & I got it scan to make a picture on the cake. Can you see that the cake is in the form of the number "1" to denote his 1st year of birthday? :)

Zac's scribbling ...

Zac loves to draw & write.
He can write unaided :
1) 1-20 but not "5". "15" (bcos of the "5') there
2) A-Z but not "S" "R"
3) a-z but not "s"

He used more of CAPITAL LETTERS in his spelling. He spell his name as Z A C H A r Y. The "r" is small letter cos he cant write "R" in CAPITAL. So when he spell car, it will be C A r. Is it normal for children this age (3yrs+) to mix up Capital Letters with small letters? Look at the picture below for prove of his works. See the word "CAr" there?

On his good day, he will sit down & do up a nice picture of a sun, cloud, a car & bus with passengers inside.

He will also draw people : circle to denote head & single strokes to denote body, hands & legs. He added in the hair recently :)

Some of the other things he loves to draw are train, ant, house, spider ...

He can spell his family's name too : LESLIE, JANICE, AMOS :):):)

He is also improving in his coloring skills. Last time, he will only use one color to do up everything, but now, he will color different things using a selection of colors.
