A new member in my family ...

Before you stand jumping to conclusion from the title ... ...

The new member is none other than this turtle, it is rather huge with long nails on its front paws. How on earth could I have possible get such a mighty one when small turtle are relatively cuter and easier to maintain.

Its all fated... whether you believe it or not!! This turtle actually appear at my corridor on Wednesday afternoon when my neighbour knocked on my door if I have a turtle that escaped from my house.... LOL :)

Seeing the lonesome creature moving slowly along the dirty corridor looking so helpless, aparently lost. I get my maid to bring it in, get it washed & gave it some cabbages :)

When the 2 boys were back from school, they were delighted to see it.. Amos wanted to catch the turtle. Zac kept shouting to me that the turtle attempted to reach over the pail to crawl out. They were just too ecstatic cos this being the first time we had a pet in the house.

I have to get a proper house for the turtle & create a living environment for it.

Will keep you updated ...

64 Hugs for Amos & Zac:

Be prepared though. They general don't smell too good.

Oh my ... I once went out with a friend for dinner at a coffee shop. She ordered the Tian Ji soup and ate with rice. She kept telling me it tasted as good as chicken. I did not look at the bowl of soup throughout the dinner. Hee Hee .. I hope she did not get offended.

Pets that find you are so wonderful. A little cat once wandered into our life. He was with us for several years when sadly he got melanoma and died way too early. But on his grave is the inscription "He found us and we were blessed"

This must be a tortoise is so lucky to have you, else he might be accidentally being flat up under human steps!

Having small animal at home can actually develop kids in a way that how the kid can show their love and caring to them.

Hi Janice. It's nice that you have generously opened your door to the poor tortoise. He (or she) is lucky to have you take care of him (or her).

We have a small one at home that a fellow mom from school gave to Yohan. His name is Mr. Max. Sadly Mrs. Max passed away last month.

amei79 said...

eh, janice, i dont think this is tortoise oh...seem more likely is a "labi-labi".

J@n!ce said...

Darlene : The tortise is hyper active, kept attempting to crawl out of the pail. He will stop when we walk passed, other times, he will leap n leap...LOL :)

J@n!ce said...

Rachel : I was wondering how to distinguish if its a male or female? *blush*
I haven't thought of a cool name for the creature yet.... hmmmm....

Sorry to hear that Yohan's Mr Max passed away :(

J@n!ce said...

Amei : Errr, may I ask what is "labi labi"? *blur*

J@n!ce said...

Marzie : ohhhh, thanks for telling me that. Is that a malay word? I ask my helper just now, she says she don't understand it... LOL :)

The tortoise came to your house, thats really good fortune for you, your family. Buying one is different to one that comes to you.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope you're not falling sick because of flu. If it is, maybe you should consider getting flu shot since you're around kids all the time. This is the age they build immunity and parents tend to catch the same virus all the time.

J@n!ce said...

Blur : Just feeling restless & headache, not having flu. Zac is down with flu & slight cough though. Thanks for your concern :)

Chinneeq said...

hehe...believe or not, i am afraid to touch tortise until today.

J@n!ce said...

Chin Nee : For me, its not just tortise, but a lot of other pets as well...*blush*

Janice, how is the turtle today? healthy? :-) We used to have 2 turtles here, but one was died... and one is lonely..so I gave it to clay's neighbor friend who has many turtles.

At Cliff birthday, I gave some turtles to his cousins, later on,my brother in law showed an article that turtle is not a good pet for kids, it can bring some diseases for kids... you better check it out again, Jan... I don't have turtle anymore so I just ignore that article and just read the headlines.. hehehe..

J@n!ce said...

Trinity : Ohhhhh, diseases? I think I better check it out. Thanks for telling me :)

this is nothing in asian countries, but if i am right, i think this tortoise is considered pest in aust. either it's banned or need a special license cos they can do harm to the environment or farm, something like that. i may be wrong, but i can vaguely hearing it somewhere :)

J@n!ce said...

Sweetpea : You got me all worried now. Oh No... I better check it out. Thanks for informing :)
